High-tech:WindSun supports the operation of Qingdao Metro No. 13 Line

No. 13 metro line in Qingdao was put into trial operation at 10:00 am on December 26, 2018, being the fourth metro line in this sea-front city, the first metro line in Xihai’an New Area and an important part of Qingdao’s urban rail transit network that is aimed to cross three cities with fast inter-city connection, cover entire region and radiate the Gulf.

WindSun’s 35kV regenerative braking energy inverters and SVGs, i.e., high voltage dynamic reactive power compensation devices, play a role in successful operation of green traction power supply systems for No. 13 metro line.
As a high-tech company that houses core technologies for braking energy absorbing devices and electricity quality control products (SVG) makes contribution to the safe operation, kinetic energy conversion and green travel of Qingdao metro and the organic connection of Xihai’an New Area into the Qingdao urban rail transit network.

WindSun products are used in No. 2 Line, No. 3 Line, No. 11 Line and No. 13 Line, four metro lines that are operated in Qingdao. For No. 13 line, WindSun assisted Qingdao Metro in testing 1180V braking energy absorbing devices.

WindSun takes the leadership in drafting national standard for braking energy absorbing devices and plays a major role in drafting industrial standard for electricity quality governance products.




According to 2018 Electric and Mechanical Products for Chinese Urban Rail Transit Systems: Market Development Report available on , regenerative braking energy absorbing devices (inverter type, energy storage type and resistor type) manufactured by WindSun have been widely applied in urban rail transit systems in Tianjin, Chongqing, Beijing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, Qingdao and Ji’nan. In particular, Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects for No. 5 line in Chengdu Metro has established a milestone in China for application of these devices: the longest distance, the most stations and the largest capacity. According to the market research, WindSun takes over 50% of the market for braking energy absorbing devices.
